BEHIND THE MUSIC
Confusic is strongly influenced by the sounds of progressive metal and orchestral musical parts. Confusic understands the power of sound and I try to perform music that speaks to me across a brough musical spectrum.
Background information
In 1992 guitarist Arjen Boers joined the newly founded melodic death metal band Maleficium. After a short period in the rehearsal studio writing songs, Maleficium recorded their first demo called "Question of Existence" released in March 1993.
We got a lot of great reviews on our demo, which also became 'Demo of the Month' in the largest international metal magazine of the Benelux the Aardschok.
In December of 1994 Maleficium signed a contract with record label Cyber Music and released their debut album called “This Illusion of Humanity” in June 1995. Although the album got inspiring reviews the band split up in 1996.
Post Maleficium
After a period of rest, guitarist Arjen Boers started his old habit and picked up his guitar and began writing new material. In comparison with the music he wrote for Maleficium, the music developed more towards the 'progressive' metal genre. The fusion of comprehensive and powerful drums associated with melodic parts formed the solid base for the music of Confusic. The keyboard and piano played an important role to create a specific ambiance for the music. People who listen to the first demo of Confusic called: "Down to Earth" described the music as a symphonic whole.
Current I'm writing new material which will be available for free download on this web site. Learned for the better mix and master song. New songs will be played on a 7 string guitar to make it even more heavy and bombastic.
Let me know what you think of it and if you have any questions, please contact me.
Musical greetings to you all.
